MyKasih’s aid distribution model is powered by a patent-pending proprietary software developed by DIV Services, an associate company of DIALOG Group. By leveraging the chip technology embedded in Malaysia’s identity card (MyKad), recipients are able to shop, select, and pay for essential items at designated retail outlets — simply by using their identity card.
Evolving for the Greater Good
This system builds on two existing technologies — the MyKad’s built-in payment features and a cash-free payment solution initially developed by DIV Services for a national initiative. Although both saw limited rollout at the time, they would soon find new purpose.
The turning point came when Tan Sri Dr. Ngau Boon Keat heard an appeal to support families in Selayang. Inspired to find a more seamless way of distributing aid, he saw the potential of applying a tech-driven approach.
This was especially important, as most potential recipients did not have bank accounts; so the aim was to keep the process as simple and accessible as possible.
Safe, Seamless, Scalable
Recipients present their MyKad at the retailer for verification through a card terminal linked to MyKasih’s recipient database, authorising the purchase.

Importantly, funds are held securely in the backend – not on the card itself – ensuring each transaction is safe, transparent and traceable. Every ringgit reaches its intended destination, with zero leakages.
To date, this system has benefited not only MyKasih’s flagship Love My Neighbourhood and Love My School programmes, but also wider initiatives, including those run by Lembaga Zakat Selangor, Majlis Agama Islam Melaka, Zakat Pulau Pinang, Johor State Government’s Kasih Johor programme (2021) and Federal Government’s Sumbangan Asas Rahmah since 2023.
